Mitch Yockey, paintings
Mitch Yockey was born in the Midwest, and moved to the Pacific Northwest with his family when he was a year old. He grew up surrounded by the beauty of the region, and his mother exposed him to art at an early age, bringing him to her own art classes. Throughout his youth he pursued his interests in art, science and architecture, and finally chose to pursue a career in architecture. He received a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies in 1980 from Washington State University, and practiced architecture from 1980 to 2021. Throughout his life he has pursued art in various mediums, and watercolor became a passion after retirement. His work seeks to capture simple moments of beauty in both nature and the built environment.
