Contemporary Beadwork Based On Ojibwe Tradition
My art is an extension of my personal reconciliation with my ancestral roots. I am an enrolled member of the Lac Court Orville’s Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe of Wisconsin.
I focus on replicating the traditional floral beadwork achieved by my predecessors. I consider my work to be reflective of my archetypal memory.
Memory is a key factor in the work I produce, as I am guided by my grandmother and great grandmother.
I feel my work preserves the beauty and pride of our culture. Not only for this generation, but for all future generations.
