Tracy Powell
Tracy Powell is a lifelong resident of western Washington. He operates Powell Studios with his wife Maralyne. He has been a painter and sculptor in many media, and currently works mostly in stone carving. His sculptures range from miniature to monumental, and are shown in galleries and Parks throughout the North West, including: Matzke Sculpture Park, Camano Island, Big Rock Garden Park in Bellingham and Westcott Bay Reserve on San Juan Island. He has created and installed large public sculptures at Deception Pass State Park, United Methodist Church in Anacortes, Skagit Valley Hospital, the Anacortes waterfront and the City of Mount Vernon as well as many private commissions.
Tracy is a member of the NorthWest Stone Sculptors Association, and has been an instructor at many of their symposia. He has been active in local arts and environmental groups on Fidalgo, Guemes, and San Juan Island, has curated sculpture exhibits in La Conner and Mount Vernon, worked on task forces for La Conner and Anacortes Arts Commissions, and is now a member of the La Conner Art Commission.
Tracy Powell is a dedicated advocate for the causes of Peace, Love, and Mother Earth.
